Me and Mondo at Yankee Stadium

For those of you who do not know... Mondo is the BEST at surprises! One of his surprises this time when I was home was a trip to Yankee Stadium... What a treat...
This was only my second time to Yankee Stadium, the first time I almost cried when I saw how many people were there. The seats were really great because you could see everything! Mondo and I had peanuts and popcorn and lemon ice, what could be more fun!
In the end, we tried to hold the camera and take a picture of ourselves at Yankee Stadium. Literally it took 5 shots to get it right, and this was the last shot, so we are both a little giggly. The Yankees may have lost (and horribly) but we had a great time!

JUST BOUGHT TICKETS TO SOUTH AFRICA

Well, now we can say that it is totally official since I have bought my tickets to Africa....

Can't wait... But have so much to learn and do until then... Seems pretty unreal!

The last of the Maine Pictures... Only 3 months later!

Well, I had a great time in Maine, and I really feel as though I just left, must be because I have been reliving it the last month with posting pictures at a snails pace!

Here is a nice one of me and Pammy!
And I got to see my brother, Karl for about 20 minutes on my last day there which was nice (he was heading to work - doesnt seem like my visit was that important does it?)
And me and Bri (I think that we were at bowling here!)
And of course, Julie's Puppies Charlie (right) and Tootsie (left). I had lots of fun playing with them at Julie and Stojans house!

Bowling... In Maine

Ahh... Bowling, the worlds strangest sport, half skill, half luck... But I really do love it. In Maine they have regular bowling (which we call BIG BALL BOWLING) and bowling with small balls that fit into your palm and skinny pins called Candle pin bowling, I much prefer to the former to Candle pin, so we had a row at both.
The fam out at bowling...
Me showing off my killer bowling style...
Me and my MUM!Ahhh... Cute couple bowling... Finally, a picture oppurtunity with Mondo and I look silly... C'est la vie...

A Night on the Town with Friends

Cant believe that a month or so again I was there and relaxing!! Seems like forever ago now. Here is my best friend Julie (since 7th grade) with her hubby Stojan and their babies Charley (left) and Tootsie!! They were gracious enough to let me stay in their home, even for an extra night when my flight out of Maine was cancelled!!

For more of the pictures of Julies Wedding from last October click here
Here we are before we go out, champagne in hand!
We found this great gourmet pizza place that served awesome wine and really amazing pizza and talked about our crazy pasts, and our even crazier futures. This is Pam, my other best friend, who I have known since 4th Grade! To think that we used to be in 4th grade together and played hopscotch and tag... Just funny!
Enjoying good pizza and good times! (my favorite picture of Pam and Jules!)
As the night rolled on and the wine drunk down we had more and more laughs. It was so nice to see my BFFs, but sad to have so little time. Pity to think that we only have once a year to see each other, but one day when I am not learning diseases of poultry and epidemiology of pathological conditions, perhaps we can all see each other a bit more... But until then, vet school RULES!
Remember the last time that I saw Pam and Jules?? At my going away party last year!! Click here to see

When in Maine, Eat Lobst-ah

Man, I have been SOSOOSOS Busy here in 'Kitts. I am a teachers assistant in two classes (Anatomy of the Dog and Bacteriology), tutor to 11 students in Anatomy of large Animals, ZEW Club President, Queen of the Zoo, and student... Plus Rockstar and homework and I have ZERO time!! So so sorry that all these photos are so late... But I have so many GREAT ones coming including of the new additions to the Rockstar and his Mommy Family and of the monkey that I was nursing at my house!!!

So in Maine, Mondo of course wanted lobster. I am not a fan, despite being raised in the Lobster capital of the world, but we went to a cute little lobster shack about 15 minutes from where I grew up. This is the view from the back where we sat.
The beach stretched out beside us and even though it was not warm, lots of people were out and enjoying the sun (in speedos!) I think that they were tourists!!
Mondos lobster was HUGE! and the view was great...

Our Little Cottage...

While in Maine we stayed at the cutest place and were really comfy. This was the cow that was painted on the walkway in the front. The nighttime picture does it no justice really, but it was alot of fun to have a little cottage in Maine.

Turns out the place is now owned by someone that I go to High School with so it was fun to catch up. Check out his place! http://www.dallairesmotelcottages.com/

Out to Dinner and a Movie in Maine

So there is not always a whole lot to do in my town in Maine. That is the one thing that is bad about it there. But there is the old movie theatre that I used to go to, although it has had a major makeover and is now a movie theatre slash restaurant, where you can get food served while you eat... Why doesnt New York (or St Kitts) have one of these??? Anyway it is probably really rude to take pictures in a movie theatre, but who cares.
Me, Brianna, and Melissa (shes my sister, shes the one on the right) went to go see the movie Super Bad with Mondo. 15 minutes into the movie I was embarrassed that I had brought my sister to a movie with so many swear words and sexual overtones, but it was pretty funny to be snickering away at this retarded coming of age movie.

And then before we left, I was in the old movie theatre bathroom and there were all of these carvings into the paint on the doors. I knew that I shouldnt, but I just couldnt help myself, all the giddiness of the movie plus the return to the place where I had spent alot of my junior high and high school weekends... So I carved "KK + MP" With a big heart around it... My little claim to fame... I took a picture, but the flash was all messed up and glaring, so I had to take a video...

Mondo's First Trip to the LL Bean Store

A trip to my grandparents house when I was younger always took us by this humongous Native American statue. It is pretty cool that it is still standing on I295 on the way to Freeport Maine where me and Mondo were going to go check out LL Bean.

Pretty nice time of year to go, there were these huge sand castles built in the front and the weather was nice... There were tourists everywhere (Am I considered a tourist in the state that I grew up in??)
And here we are in the store, trying to get a cute picture...
I still think that Mondo should have gotten this backpack. Finally a bag big enough for him!!

And as we left a gorgeous Maine sunset...

A trip to Maine to see the Fam...

A quick picture of me with my Great Grandmom (center) and my Grandma Betty who I saw on the first day that we got to Maine. I only get to see them once or twice a year, so it was a real treat!

A Day for Rockstar in New York

Well, we have been back from NY and break for a while now (has it really been two whole weeks??) But I still have yet to post pictures (I am a busy little vet student you know!) But I am sure that you are all wondering, what did Rockstar do the entire time... Well, not much that lazy boy, but he did have some play dates with some of his girlfriends. This is Luna, she was a rescue and loves to run (Rockstar only wishes that he could catch up!) Since Rockstars daddy has a nice new big backyard, Luna came over and they ran around acting like big goofballs.
And around the pool as well...
But what did Rockstar do most the time while we were home?? Beg for food, cry for food, watch people eat, sigh loudly from under the table, ect, ect.

A Prominent Family Member on the News

Ok, it has been a while since I posted... But honestly, there was alot going on. Between FINALS (Phew... they are over) and break (More pictures to come) and getting back and settling in, I have had no time... But I promise to DELIVER this week...

In the meantime, check out my Aunt Rebecca being interviewed for a local Albany news station to talk about her research....
